“Birth of Home” (2018) is an analogical performance between the process of grief, traveling, rebirth and change. As the house-shaped backpack caries a reversible uterus-shaped sleeping bag, it symbolically caries the cyclic essence of life within oneself. The cathartic artwork is addressing at once a personal experience and global issues relating to the concept of childbirth. Without any detail left from my own birth, I choose to disclose a calming yet empowering gesture on the first breath in life.
